Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) now invites candidates for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology which is expected to be filled as soon as possible. The appointee will provide vision, strategic direction and academic leadership of the Faculty, in support of the wider University’s strategic ambitions to be leading, diverse, digital and sustainable. The appointee should be a visionary leader and distinguished scholar, who is eligible for faculty appointment as a full professor or a chair professor in one or more of the Faculty’s teaching and/or research fields. S/he reports to the Vice-President (Academic) and other members of the senior management team, contributing to the advancement of the University.

The Dean is expected to provide effective direction and delegate responsibility within the Faculty when appropriate, including (1) execution of all Faculty’s initiatives and planning; (2) facilitation of academic and administrative development by providing effective guidance in all aspects of the Faculty’s academic programmes, research endeavors, and community outreach activities; (3) acting as an inspiring role model and ensuring the Faculty continues to provide a high-quality academic experience for students and a stimulating environment for the staff; and (4) provide leadership in matters for staff development, recruitment and retention.
